Mobile & On-Site Occupational Health / Mobile Occupational Medicals
Mobile occupational medicals at your workplace.
Mobile occupational medicals allow employers to complete employee medical examinations at the workplace, reducing the need to transport large groups to an external clinic. This can help minimise disruption to working hours and production schedules while reducing the need to arrange transport and manage time spent travelling between the workplace and medical facility.
IHSS provides fully equipped mobile medical screening services at workplaces across South Africa, allowing employers to schedule examinations around site operations and workforce requirements.
What can the IHSS mobile units provide?
IHSS mobile units include X-ray systems, lung function equipment and audiometric booths. Depending on the medical requirements and workplace risks, services delivered on site may include:
- Employment and fitness medicals
- Audiometric testing
- Spirometry
- Vision screening
- Occupational chest X-rays
- Selected monitoring services
Our mobile units can screen between 70 and 120 employees per day, depending on the tests required and site arrangements. This capacity supports scheduled workforce screening without sending employees to several individual appointments.
Planned around your operating schedule.
Mobile occupational medicals can reduce employee travel and make it easier to coordinate screening across shifts. Employees can attend at scheduled times and return to their duties once their assessments are complete.
Before a mobile visit, the number of employees, required tests and available site facilities need to be established. This allows the screening schedule to be planned around the workforce and the employer’s operational requirements.
IHSS also operates permanent clinics in Mpumalanga and Gauteng for employers or employees requiring clinic-based appointments.
