Occupational medicals based on the work employees perform.

Occupational medicals assess an employee’s health in relation to their role, working environment and the specific demands of the job. An employee may be healthy in general but still have a medical limitation that affects their ability to perform certain duties safely, such as working at height or operating vehicles, while workplace exposure may require selected medical tests.

The findings from these assessments inform job placement, fitness decisions and any medical restrictions that need to be considered.

medical examinations across employment.

We provide occupational medical examinations at different stages of the employment cycle, including:

  • Pre-employment medicals before placement
  • Periodic medicals during employment
  • Exit medicals when employment or occupational exposure ends
  • Fitness-for-duty assessments
  • Return-to-work medicals following illness or injury

An occupational medical may include a review of the employee’s medical and work history, followed by a physical examination and basic health measurements. Our existing medical assessment service includes blood pressure, BMI, glucose and urine analysis.

Additional testing may be included when it relates to the employee’s job or exposure profile. This could involve audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, biological monitoring or an occupational chest X-ray.

The resulting medical information helps the occupational health practitioner assess the employee in the context of the work they are expected to perform. It also contributes to the employer’s occupational health records and future monitoring.

Flexible access to employee medicals.

We provide occupational medicals through clinic, mobile and on-site options. Employers can select the delivery method that suits their workforce location and operating schedule.
